Overview
The Pole-Mounted Isolating Switch is a high-voltage distribution switch installed on outdoor utility poles or towers, mainly used for 10kV and 35kV overhead power lines. It is a fundamental device in distribution networks, providing circuit isolation and ensuring maintenance safety.
As the switch has no arc-extinguishing capability, it cannot interrupt load current or short-circuit current. It should only be operated when the line is unloaded and de-energized.
After disconnection, the switch forms a clear and visible insulation gap, providing reliable electrical isolation for line maintenance, transformer maintenance and equipment replacement, while helping prevent risks caused by accidental energization or induced voltage.
